Doctors Will Never Say About This: 4 Reasons Why You Should Always Urinate Under The Shower!

To pee or not to pee? In the shower, we mean. Everyone has to wee.

But whether or not it’s okay to take a piss while getting clean is a fiercely debated question that’s broken friendships, torn apart relationships, and made people seriously question their housemate’s personal hygiene.

But we now have mathematical evidence to back up the pro-weeing-in-the-shower.

Peeing in the shower is the great equalizer — it’s the one thing most of us do but don’t admit to. Or if we do ‘fess up, it’s with a sense of shame. But frat boys everywhere can rejoice because one university in Britain is saying that not only is shower peeing not bad, it’s actually better than toilet tinkling!

1. It’s economical

UofEA estimates that the new program will save the university over $230,000 a year in water costs. Your personal savings might not be that impressive (although who knows how much you pee?) but who wouldn’t love to lighten up their utility bill?

2. It’s good for the environment

Administrators at UofEA say, “With 15,000 students at UEA, over a year we would save enough water to fill an Olympic-sized swimming pool 26 times over.” They did not comment on how much of that pool water was already filled with urine but now you’re imagining it. You’re welcome. Plus, less paper waste in the sewage system means less cleanup needed.

3. It’s more hygienic

Many public health officials have long wondered how toilet paper ended up as the clean standard for post-potty clean up. But it was Will.i.am who explained the dilemma best: “Get some chocolate, wipe it on a wooden floor, and then try to get it up with some dry towels. You’re going to get chocolate in the cracks. That’s why you gotta get them baby wipes.” Dry paper just kind of smears things around and for women, wiping back to front can introduce bacteria into the urethra causing a painful infection. No such problem in the shower where clean water rinses everything down and out!

4. It’s cleaner

We’re not as bad as men but women can also drip, leak or otherwise “mist” the toilet seat. I don’t know how it happens but it just does. Add toilet paper to the mix and, well, that’s how you end up with gas station restrooms. There’s a reason that many countries that are not America use bidets, toilet-like devices that squirt water for bottom cleaning.

5. It will make you prepared

When’s the last time you peed in the wild? It’s not a skill many grown women cultivate and it’s pretty seldom you need to employ the squat method but if you ever do, your morning shower sessions will make it that much easier to let it flow!

6. It will improve your aim

Did you know girls can aim their pee too? We may not be able to write our names in the snow or put out a campfire but we can still learn to control the flow and direction. And hey, you needed to get your Kegels in anyhow!

7. It’s fun

Yeah, I said it. Grown-ups don’t get to do a lot of subversive things on a daily basis, but peeing in the shower can be your little act of rebellion for the day.

8. It’s not as weird as you think it is

In a Today Show poll, over 80 percent of people admitted to being mellow with the yellow in the shower. (Al Roker was the lone holdout among the hosts, in case you were curious.) Peeing in the shower is quicker and more convenient. ‘Nuff said.

What do you think of shower peeing?
