Having acne on your skin is normal, at any age. What is not normal is having red, inflamed skin that hurts when you touch it. This is a common skin disease, which is frustrating and uncomfortable, but not dangerous (according to the National Institute of Health).
If your problems with acne aren’t a result of hormonal imbalance, or certain food intolerance, then you can easily clear your skin. You don’t need to use expensive cosmetic products in order to do that, all you have to use is a tomato.
Tomato as an acne cure
You’re probably wondering how tomatoes can help you get rid of your stubborn acne. Besides being high in several vitamins (such as Vitamin A, E, K, C and B6), the tomato also contains salicylic acid. The vitamins nourish your skin and help shrink the pours, while the acid balances your skin’s pH levels.
Using tomato the right way
Keep it simple – it doesn’t have to be complicated to work. When you only have minor breakouts on your skin and when you’re in a rush, you just need to do this: slice the tomato and rub it on the affected areas. It may be not the most effective treatment, but it definitely helps with small (almost invisible) acne.
Tomato face mask:
If you have more time, then you can use this method to reduce painful and heavy acne.
Take a tomato and place it under warm water. After about a minute, you will be able to peel the skin. After you remove the skin, you need to remove the tomato seeds as well. Mix the rest of the tomato with cucumber or yogurt, and mash it. Apply the paste on your entire face and let it set. Rinse it with warm water after one hour.
Tomato juice face wash:
If sitting around with tomato paste on your face makes you uncomfortable, then you can try this simple solution. Mix a few drops of lemon and one tablespoon of tomato juice in a small dish. Apply this mixture only on your acne (not on your entire face), wait for five minutes, then rinse it with warm water.
