Hugging is The Most Beautiful Form of Communication

Hugging is one of the ways in which we can express happiness, joy, love, sadness, admiration, fear, compassion, care, comfort, and similar feelings that we have, connecting deeply with another person.

Experienced Family Therapist – Virginia Satir believes that we need at least 4 hugs a day for good survival, 12 for growth and 8 hugs a day for maintenance.

Hugs are of great importance for human health and well-being. This has been confirmed by many scientists. So here are a few reasons to give a hug as many times as possible in one day:

  • When someone is grieving, hugs help a lot because that is a source of genuine comfort, it helps calm the soul and gives strength to move on, avoiding greater emotional torture.
  • Hugging helps reduce stress by reducing cortisol levels. According to a 2013 study, students who had a 15-minute conversation with a distant partner using a humanoid device had significantly lower levels of stress than those who talked to their partner via cell phone. Embraces soothe, improves mood and helps provide a sense of closeness.
  • The embrace helps relax the muscles. It also reduces tension and relieves pain.
  • Hugs reduce stress, prevent the negative effects that can be caused by excessive stress, and thus reduce the risk of disease. Hugs and social interactions prevent various diseases because they support the immune system.
  • Embracing helps to significantly reduce anxiety and fear. Touch also helps relieve fear, especially in people who have low self-esteem.
  • Embracing leads to happiness and euphoria, increases the levels of oxytocin, the love hormone or the hormone of binding.
  • Embracing balances the nervous system.

These are enough reasons to enjoy the hugs, and give them more than before. Hugs are the simplest and warmest way to feel happy so you can enjoy your health, express true emotions and connect more with the people around you.
